The Australian government has announced a new round of grants for small businesses across the Asia-Pacific region.
According to a report from Australia Radio News the grants, worth up to 1.5 million Australian dollars, will focus primarily on alternative energy projects.
Other small businesses receiving the grants concentrate on education, eco-tourism and agriculture.
The spending is part of a six year pilot project called the Enterprise Challenge Fund which offers grants to start-ups that must be self-sustaining within three years.
