Once you've logged into your Mr Site account, you'll be greeted with the Takeaway
Website Main Options page. To get your website up and running, the first four options you see on your screen – 'Choose a design'; 'How many pages'; 'Change content' and 'Publish your site' – are the most important.
So, let's start by picking a design for your website with option one. Mr Site has over a hundred professional and customisable designs for you to choose from, so simply click on the one you'd like for your website, press the blue 'Select this design' button and you'll be taken through to the 'Now personalise your design page'.
On the first tab, you'll be able to decide whether you'd like a vertical or horizontal menu bar for your website – this is where visitors can select the different pages on your website. If you select a vertical bar, you'll also be able to choose if this goes on the left or the right of your screen.
The second tab allows you to pick a colour scheme for the background of your website – not all designs allow this but always check.
You can also see how your website is looking by scrolling down to the bottom of the screen and once you're happy just click 'Save and Finish'.
This will take you back to the main options page where you can now move on to option 2 – 'How many pages?'.
This option allows you add pages to your website, so why not make a plan before you start of what pages you'd like….remember you can only add 10 pages at time.
When you've decided, simply select the number of pages from the drop down menu and then give your website a name.
You can come back and add pages at any time and if you'd like to delete them, click option 5 'Extras' from the main menu, followed by 'Admin', then 'Delete a Page'. Watch our next tutorial to find out how to start changing your content with option 3.
