Small to medium businesses who haven't used a
website builder would do well to pay attention to the advice coming from a leading internet commerce firm.
Econsultancy has this week published an article on its blog, advising internet retailers on how best to capitalise on the consumer rush to bag a bargain online, this January.
The firm says while most online retailers have some kind of sale going right now, many sites contain web design that make it 'painful' to browse their sales items.
Spokesperson for Econsultancy, Graham Charlton, writes: "Rather than providing long lists of sale products, customers need sorting and filtering options so they can hone their product search and find a bargain without too much effort."
He says this can be a persuasive feature for customers - as the number of products being narrowed means the customer is closer to a purchase.
